Central Ohio surpasses 2020 job-growth goal 2 years early

Columbus, May 30, 2018 – In 2010, Columbus 2020 set a goal to add 150,000 jobs to the regional economy by 2020. This year, not only has Columbus reached that goal, but they have surpassed it at 159,000 jobs. The Columbus metro area currently ranks 13th  for new jobs since 2010 among 35 metro areas that have 1 million to 3 million inhabitants. Kenny McDonald, Columbus 2020’s chief economic officer, says it took a lot of leadership to set the goal in 2010, a period of time in which Columbus was coming out of the worst recession since the Great Depression.
